Artist's Comments

Oh...my God. :faint: I cannot believe I'm finally done. This was the most difficult thing I've ever painted.

I have always hated painting, which made this extra hard for me. Even though I've done two other paintings before, this is my first time painting a person. I seriously feel like I just made things up as I went along. XD I know it's not perfect--but hey, whatever, I'm satisfied with it, and I'm happy that I finished it!

The skin was the hardest part...it was the first thing I did, and I didn't know how to go about it, so I got really, really frustrated. Surprisingly, the dress was the most fun, and the lace wasn't too difficult. It's all about mixing the right colours (which is infuriating).

I've still got my entire portfolio from art this year that I need to submit, but it's at school, so as soon as I can get it back I'll submit those as well!

I tend to draw signs of infinity on your back
Solely with my fingers, ignoring their size,
And how the nails are gnawed to nubs.
Let's not get started on the temperature.

This looks lovely<3 I love the colors here, nice job mixing them. They look very accurate in comparison to the real picture. I the arms and hands look nice, as well, and I really like how you did the dress. The lace looks really pretty and definitely looks like lace. And the shading on the clock is amazing. One thing that bothers me a bit is that the head looks a bit small for the shoulders in comparison to the real picture. It also looks a bit longer and thinner at the jaw than it should. But the face itself looks very nice, I like the lips and eyes! The shading on the lips is particularly nice, and I love the eyelashes~ The hair looks pretty, as well, though it is hard to see a little since it kind of blends in to the background...though I'm not sure if that was intentional X3 But overall this came out very nice, the colors look particularly appealing :)

goodness dana! what a long and lovely comment. thank you!

mixing the colours was the most difficult part. when I took the photo, it was under a yellow light, so I kinda had to alter them so that I didn't jaundice myself. XD

thanks for the critique...I'm obviously not fixing anything now, but it's good to know.
